Nominee's Bio: HANNAH AWADZI is the Executive Director of the Special Mothers Project, an advocacy and awareness creation program on Cerebral palsy issues. Hannah advocates for the enhancement of families raising children with cerebral palsy and other disabilities. The Special Mothers Project has established an online community for families raising children with cerebral palsy and other disabilities that share experiences, ideas and engage in peer counseling as well as providing professional psychosocial support for families. The project has developed a referral system, which connects families needing help to the limited but available support services. The Special Mothers Project also engages in media advocacy to create awareness about children with disabilities and families raising children with Special Needs with the aim of influencing policies that will enhance their lives.
